How to Add a New UHF Frequency

Introduction

Your machine uses a GNSS radio device with a UHF link to receive correction signals from a base station. If you need to change or add a new UHF frequency, you’ll do this through the GNSS radio device settings.

⚠️ Safety Notes

  • 🔴 Stop the machine: Always park on level ground, lower the work equipment, and stop the engine before working with the ICT or GNSS systems.

  • ⚠️ Do not adjust radio settings near blasting sites: UHF signals can trigger detonators.

  • Consult your local distributor if unsure of applicable local frequency regulations.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Power down safely

    • Lower the bucket/boom to the ground.

    • Set the lock lever to the LOCK position.

    • Turn off the engine.

  2. Access the GNSS radio device

    • Locate the GNSS radio device inside the cab area, connected to the ICT monitor.

    • Ensure the radio antenna and coaxial cables are connected properly.

  3. Open the ICT monitor

    • Turn the starting switch to the ON position without starting the engine.

    • Wait for the ICT monitor to fully boot.

  4. Navigate to the GNSS settings

    • On the ICT monitor, open the Dashboard.

    • Tap the GNSS status button to enter GNSS settings.

  5. Open Correction Data menu

    • Tap Correction Data to access the modem/radio settings.

    • Here, you can view and change the current communication channel and frequency.

  6. Set the new UHF frequency

    • Match the channel and frequency with the GNSS base station being used.

    • If the base station is using a new frequency, input that same channel here.

  7. Save and confirm

    • After entering the new frequency, tap the checkmark to save.

    • The system will attempt to reconnect.

    • Within a few minutes, confirm that the correction data status turns green on the dashboard.

Tips

  • If connection does not establish:

    • Verify that both base and rover are on the same channel.

    • Make sure there are no obstructions (trees, buildings) blocking the radio signal.

    • UHF reception may take 15–20 minutes after changes.

  • Frequencies may be regulated by law. Always use only those authorized in your region.
